Time is flying by fast and the day is almost upon us as we get ready to catch our flight to Chicago on April 12! We will be flying to Chicago via Munich. It will be a long day as we need to be at Fiumicino airport before 5 am! Silvia and Luana will be driving in on the morning of. This means they will probably be leaving their homes around 2 – 2:30 am max! The rest of us will be catching some winks at the airport Holiday Inn. Hopefully, we will be getting some rest the night before.
There hasn’t been much rest for the past month; what with work obbligations, family and then the preparation of documents and phone calls back and forth to the United States to make sure everything is in order so that we can get our tickets in time.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all those who’ve helped in getting the preparations in order: Erin Woodward, GSE Senior Coordinator in Evanston, Karmen Frlan – our travel agent at RTS, Ruth McLaren – Team Leader GSE 6540 inbound to Italy, Michele Thorton -GSE Chair District 6540, Massimo Massi Benedetti, our esteemed Governor, Sandro Foglio, GSE Coordinator in our district, Anna Rita, Secretary for Massimo at “Rotary Central” here in our district and last, but not least, Barbara, Fabio, Luana and Silvia – Outbound Team Members who’ve been great in getting everything needed in on time.

Il tempo sta volando velocemente e il giorno prescelto e’ quasi alle porte, mentre noi ci stiamo preparando a prendere il volo per Chicago il 12 Aprile! Viaggeremo a Chicago attraverso Monaco. Sara’ una lunga giornata visto che dovremmo essere all’aeroporto di Fiumicino prima delle 5 del mattino. Silvia e Luana arriveranno a Fiumicino direttamente quella mattina. Cio’ significa che partiranno dalle loro case verso le 2-2:30 del mattino! Il resto del gruppo invece restera’ all’Holiday Inn dell’aereoporto. Speriamo di dormire un po’.
Non c’e’ stato molto riposo nell’ultimo mese; obblighi di lavoro, famglia, preparazione dei documenti e chiamate con gli Stati Uniti per accertarsi che tutto sia in ordine cosi che possiamo prendere i biglietti in tempo.
